Toll takes its role in the community seriously.
As well as continuing and expanding our highly successful
First and Second Step programs for heroin addiction and
those in the prison system, our operations across the Asian
region are actively supporting many worthy initiatives such
as the Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box Project (in Asia),
Foodbank Australia and Convoy for Kids, just to name a few.
Toll Second Step Program

The Second Step Program began in 2001 and
was designed to offer an employment opportunity for
people who, as a result of previous drug or incarceration
issues, find it difficult to obtain or retain suitable
employment.
The program provides a period of supported
employment and aims to help people to:

replace
their previous life style with a safer and more
constructive one;

re-establish
themselves within the working world;

develop
strategies for coping with difficulties in daily
life;

establish
a life style and work habit that will help them
avoid resuming previous self destructive behaviours;
and
-
move on
to the next stage of their life with skills, experience
and a solid reference for future employment.

The program is not suitable or appropriate for everyone.
For successful outcomes and in order to reduce the risks
associated with 'false starts', it is important that candidates
really are ready to participate in the work force and therefore
are 'work ready'.
To make sure that candidates are indeed ready,
the Second Step Program relies on suitable pre-employment
preparation. This includes taking time to attend to any
other life issues and, while this may delay the beginning
of the actual employment it is time well spent.

Second Step Program works with a variety of partner programs
who help address any issues and provide ongoing support.
