Nike and Toll "Just Do It"

Nike, the global sports product and marketing company today announced that it had awarded a long term contract to the Toll Group to be it's logistics partner for distribution services in Australia. Currently performing operations across three sites, this contract will encompass the consolidation of these sites into a single purpose built state of the art facility. 

In selecting Toll from 23 potential suppliers in Australia, Michael Jamieson, Nike Customer Logistics and Technology Director said, 

"We were impressed by Toll's cultural similarities to Nike - their flexibility, willingness and a "Just do it" attitude. The selection of Toll means we will have access to a single World-Class facility containing a warehousing and material handling solution quite unlike we have had before." 

In order to fulfil the contract Toll will construct an 18,000sqm warehouse complex on the Toll Business Park at Altona. Construction will commence immediately, with the facility to incorporate the latest in materials handling and warehouse management technology, and will be fully operational by September 2001. 

Toll Group Managing Director, Paul Little said, "Toll is delighted to be partnering with Nike and we view this contract as an excellent opportunity to continue the supply and development of first class, technology based, logistics solutions for industry."
